Hail and well met!
I'm Emily and I'm an avid reader. I enjoy a wide variety of books and my favourite fiction genres include: fantasy, science fiction, urban fantasy, historical fiction, and animal stories. In non-fiction, I love reading natural history, science and historical books, particuarly about ancient cultures and the Tudor peroid. I read both physical and e-books, and I sometimes listen to audio-books because reading physical books is becoming more of a problem for me due to my eyesight.
I decided to create this blog to document my reading, and share my thoughts on my favourite books with others. I also like to do some art and crafty stuff, and Tolkien happens to be one of my favourite authors, hence the name of the blog, so there may sometimes be reviews of watercolour and cross stitch books on here, and updates on the crafty projects that I'm working on.
I regularly watch booktubers and have considered making my own videos, but I'm too nervous to do so at the moment. You can find me on Storygraph. I don't post on facebook, twitter, tiktok, instagram or bluesky as I don't like the platforms.
I usually get my books from Amazon, Waterstones, Awesome Books, Music Magpie, local chairty shops, Audible, our local library or Listening Books. (Listening Books is a library subscription service for people who have an illness or disability that affects their ability to read.)
I am still tweaking the blog, so it may look a bit messy for sometime.
